Born in New York City and raised in Southern California, Paul embarked on his lifelong dream of a career in law enforcement immediately after high school, joining a police department in 1988. With over three decades of dedicated service, Paul has embraced various roles and responsibilities, both in civilian and sworn capacities, marking his official start as a police officer in 1992.

Throughout his distinguished career, Paul has accumulated a diverse range of experiences, serving as a Field Training Officer, Detective, Bicycle Patrol Officer, Range Instructor, Emergency Response Team Member, and Computer Forensics Examiner, including a two-year assignment with the FBI. His leadership has been pivotal in commanding divisions focused on Internet Child Exploitation, Narcotics, Gangs, Violent Felon Apprehension, and Cold Case Homicide Task Forces, showcasing his comprehensive expertise and commitment to law enforcement.
